A little about how i became a padres fan!

In 1995 is when my mom took me to my 1st baseball game I remember Tony Gwynn threw me a ball and I missed it my brother yelled at me cuz "it was Tony Gwynn" I didn’t care I didn’t know who he was at the time. I remember seeing Steve Finley playing in CF and I fell in love I thought he was the coolest hottest guy in the world. Not to mention I was 8yrs old it was a little puppy love crush ha ha ha I’m 20 now and he is still my fave player. In 1996 I started to go to more and more games. But my most memorable was 1998 I had gone to most of the games that year not to mention the game that won us the NL west Championship. That year I became a die hard padres fan. I was devastated when Steve Finley decided to go to AZ. That year AZ became my 2nd fave team ha ha ha. In 1999 the padres started their long losing streak of 5yrs ha ha. But no matter what happened I still loved them. In 2000 we acquired Mark Kotsay he became my five SD player. He stayed my fave player until Mike Darr came along. I LOVE MIKE DARR he was the coolest guy you could ever meet. He was always a fighter I mean on the field he tried his hardest to make sure he got the play down, and off the field he was a good father and husband. He treated the fans like they were personal friends of his, and that’s why I love him so much. I had met him three times in my life and each time he was great. It's so sad that his life and career had to end so soon, I believe that he would have helped the padres out a lot. One wrong decision cost him his life. But I still have respect for him and I will fight for him as long as I can. Many people believe that he deserved what he got cuz he was being irresponsible and he was drinking and driving, but it could happen to anyone. 2002 Every one hated on the padres because we "sucked" but I had faith in them all along. I still do. I hate banwagon fans. There not true fans. N-e-ways 2003 we did ok not the best I think we could of done better but we didn’t, then at the end of 2003 we traded Mark Kotsay I was not too happy about that one eather...now in 2004 Sean Burroughs was my fave..Damn Khalil Greene is the best SS I have ever seen I hope the padres keep him for a while...they will regret it if they don’t. 2004 was a great year!! 2005 WAS MUCH MUCH better! we won the NLW and i was at that game hahaha. 2006....off to a bad start but now were in MAY and were kickin ass!! keep up the good work!
